The European transport ministers have globally approved the measures proposed by the European transport commission.
They agreed on the need to establish new safety standards in case of volcanic ash cloud. Meanwhile they stick to the advice of Eurocontrol and the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centres.
They gave support for a speedier implementation of Single European Sky.
They agreed that passenger rights rules would be "fully applicable and enforced in a uniform manner".
They supported EC call for "flexible measures to ease the financial pressure on airlines", based on each member states decision.
The proposition to temporarily defer en-route charge was not endorsed
